Produktgruppe: Additive
Polymers (e.g. PA, PU or TPU) are used in many areas, such as medical applications, food processing and packaging, and the textile industry. However, microorganisms such as viruses, fungi and bacteria pose a major threat as they can be harmful to health and affect the quality and durability of products.

To date, antimicrobial technologies based on the release of silver ions have been used to combat microbial contamination. However, major changes are already underway. The European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) is nearing the end of its Review Programme, which will spell the end for these technologies:
38 of the 72 active substance-product type dossiers have been reviewed by ECHA - none have been approved! Soon the vast majority of these technologies will no longer be available on the market.

It is time to explore new paths. Let's discuss next generation strategies and dive into Heraeus' cutting-edge antimicrobial solutions.
Don't miss these insightful discussions that will shape the future of polymers. We look forward to seeing you there and working together on breakthrough solutions
