Together with the Fakuma 2020 exhibitor advisory board, the Schall trade fair company has decided to postpone the 27th Fakuma – International Trade Fair for Plastics Processing – until 2021. The next industry highlight for plastics processing will take place from October 12 to 16, 2021.

This year’s Fakuma will be postponed to next year. From the point of view of the trade fair organizer, the 27th Fakuma could have been held in Friedrichshafen from October 13 to 17, 2020. “We fought for a long time to adapt the framework conditions required due to corona with all parties involved so that Fakuma 2020 could have been held successfully, says Bettina Schall, Managing Director of P. E. Schall GmbH & Co. KG. To this end, a hygiene and safety concept was developed to ensure that the trade fair could be held safely. “We had all the prerequisites in place. But together with the exhibitor advisory board, we have now decided to postpone Fakuma 2020 until October 2021.”

Reason, care and responsibility

This decision is based on common sense and a sense of responsibility, emphasizes Bettina Schall: “As a trade fair company, we see ourselves as a service provider for our exhibitors and trade visitors. The current uncertainties among exhibitors and visitors, for example with regard to the possible travel and secondment of employees, now dictate that we look pragmatically and confidently to 2021.” The now advanced time also speaks for a postponement. Cooperation partners and trade visitors had waited a long time for concrete information, but official requirements and delays in decisions had forced patience. But what counts now is looking ahead: “Exhibitors and trade visitors alike should be able to build on the successes of past Fakuma trade fairs in 2021. That’s why we’re now all going into solid and thorough planning for next year together,” says Bettina Schall. The joint decision by the exhibitor advisory board and the trade fair organizer to postpone Fakuma 2020 underscores the care, foresight and consideration for the concerns of exhibitors and trade visitors alike, he said. The commitment of all those involved is now focused on the intensive preparation of the next trade show highlight for the plastics industry with the aim of getting ready for the future.

Fakuma moves into the future with important topics

Fakuma is internationally regarded as the first port of call when it comes to injection molding, extrusion technology, thermoforming and 3D printing. It presents innovations in materials, machines, peripherals, processes, simulation, procedures, technologies and tools, as well as plastics processing and machining. The trade fair is an industry and technology barometer as well as being widely networked internationally. In particular, the areas of environmental protection, sustainability, resource efficiency, circular economy and bioplastics are increasingly coming into focus. With the careful planning of Fakuma 2021, trade fair promoter Schall is now creating the necessary and suitable platform for adequately addressing these important topics, which are significant for the present and the future. Thus, the Fakuma 2021 highlight will be an indispensable platform and especially awaited by the industry.

The next Fakuma will take place from October 12 to 16, 2021.
