Ferrarini & Benelli's atmospheric Plasma treatment systems for plastics provide the best solution to improve adhesion.
Plasma treatment systems operate under atmospheric pressure conditions and increase surface tension to boost adhesion of inks, glues and coatings.
These systems are easily integrated into the customer's line in order to increase productivity, but may also be used in a lab for testing processes.
Plasma activates the surface of plastic substrates and makes it more receptive to inks and coatings. The main purpose of plasma treatment is improving surface adhesion before bonding or sealing, ensuring printing of weather or wear-resistant coding on electric cables, pipes and fittings and removing contaminating agents from substrates (mainly metal substrates).
Plasma treatment has low energy consumption and does not release ozone into the atmosphere.
Ferrarini & Benelli proposes three different solutions: In Air Plasma, In Air Plasma Spark and In Air Plasma XL.
With over 60 years of experience in surface treatments, Ferrarini & Benelli can find the right solution according to each need.
All the systems' components are manufactured in house and are available from stock for timely service.
In addition to acquiring the systems, customers may rent our plasma treatment systems for extended production testing.

In Air Plasma is suitable for treating small areas of three-dimensional objects, reduced portions of plastic substrates, cables, tubes, plastic film strips or thick flat substrates. The system consists of a high-frequency digital generator with integrated transformer, one or more discharge nozzles (up to 4) connected to the generator via shielded cable.
The treatment width of each nozzle is 10 mm.
In Air Plasma Spark is used for both the treatment of non-conductive and conductive substrates. The system consist of a high-frequency digital genrator with integrated transformer and one or two heads.
