We at IDEAL Automotive have developed TriLight® PP foam, which is also patented, especially for lightweight construction.
TriLight® is a carrier material based on lightweight polypropylene foam, which is produced purely physically using extrusion processes.
TriLight® PP foams are characterised by a very low density (from 0.24 g/cm³) and high rigidity.
Excellent thermal insulation properties characterise this unique material.
Good chemical and corrosion resistance and very low water absorption go hand in hand with good weather resistance.
TriLight® PP foams have unlimited recyclability and a very low CO2 footprint and, in combination with minimised weight, contribute to sustainable product development.
TriLight® has very good 3D thermoforming properties and can be laminated with textiles and films.
In the automotive sector, TriLight® has already established itself in applications for trunk trim parts.
Potential industrial applications can be:
-Core material for sandwich laminates
-Composite panels for commercial vehicles, vans, campers
-Container construction
